The NBT specialists have begun conducting an independent environmental #audit regarding the implementation of environmental protection measures during the #construction of the second phase of the Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPP) at the Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant. The implementation of the project is carried out in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 1, 2018, No. Р-5346, “On priority measures for the implementation of the investment project “Expansion of the Talimarjan Thermal Power Plant with the construction of two additional combined cycle power plants with a total capacity of no less than 900 MW””.
During the field visit, an audit was conducted of construction sites, camps, and a concrete plant to check compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). During meetings with the local population, issues regarding the effectiveness of the grievance redress mechanism (GRM) and the impact of construction work on residents were discussed.
