The proposed project will complement and enhance the impact of the ongoing ADB-financed Horticulture Value Chain Development Project, which helps improve access to market-based bank finance for farmers, agro-processing enterprises, owners and operators of cold storage facilities, and trading and logistics service suppliers in the horticulture value chain. The holistic wholesale markets will help expand horticulture export and thus promote better linkages with production, post-harvest processing, and handling following international quality, and safety standards. Increased export of horticultural products will increase overall price transmission to small-scale producers, and small-and medium-sized agribusinesses. In this context, the proposed project will contribute significantly to maximizing the impacts of other development partner initiatives.
