Nazar Business and Technologies LLC (NBT) team, as part of the implementation of the project “Assessing the effectiveness of activities to expand irrigation and drainage services in Central Asia”, funded by the World Bank, visited the Kyrgyz Republic to conduct a training on collecting indicators and assessing the performance of water management organizations in providing irrigation and drainage services. During the trip, a meeting was held with the Deputy Director of the Agency for Water Resources under the Ministry of Development, Water Resources and Regional Development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
To assess the effectiveness of work, surveys are conducted with the heads of selected water management organizations. The assessment will be carried out in the following water management organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic:
– in Osh region: Osh Main Department of Water Resources (MDWR), Nookat District Department of Water Resources (DDWR), Kara-Suu DDWR and Uzgen DDWR;
– in Jalalabad region: Jalalabad MDWR, Bazar-Korgon DDWR and Suzak DDWR;
– in the Batkent region: Batkent MDWR, Kadamzhoy DDWR and Batkent DDWR.
In addition, there will also be a performance rating of the three Water Users Associations in all of the above regions.
A study tour was also organized to the Moscow Regional Water Resources Department, where a test survey was conducted by the local Project Consultant.
