The NBT team, in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, successfully completed the monitoring and relocation of the Central Asian tortoise from the future sites of 500 MW and 400 MW solar power plants in Samarkand region, near the village of “Olga”.
This initiative was implemented as part of the ACWA POWER “SAZAGAN 1 – 2” projects. During the monitoring work, all tortoises were relocated from the territory of the future solar power plants to a specially designated area under the watchful supervision of inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology.
