The Government of Uzbekistan (GOU) has obtained a Credit from World Bank for Fergana Valley Water Resources Management Phase-I Project (FWRMP). The proceeds from this credit/loan will be used to prepare a proposed Fergana Valley Water Resources Management Phase-II Project (FWRMP-II). The main objectives of the proposed consultancy services are to:
• prepare an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) plan for the Fergana Valley (FV) synthesizing information from existing background documents and analyzing existing data;
• select an optimal set of irrigation and drainage (I&D) interventions based on the above step; and
• prepare a detailed feasibility level study with tender designs of the project (FWRMP-II), which would meet the appraisal requirements of an internationally funded project under the first phase of the assignment.; and
• contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory outcome of the first phase, prepare tender design drawings, construction supervision and FWRMP-II implementation support.
